Anita Aurora's Story

Just like jewelry, names are often passed down and cherished for generations. they can indicate a love, a loss, or a place in the world. my grandmother Aurora came to Canada in the 1970’s - she passed long before I was born but she left me her face & her name. Because I never met her, she is my inspiration in tactically and visually exploring how memory, identity, and destiny live in physical things.

What we wear means more than an item's physical properties. Memories with my favourite women. Gifts from interesting men. Precious relics that celebrate a bloodline. Pieces of beautiful metal and stones that harken to a time and place. As I help each jewel find its home, I am anchored in my own history and destiny. Anita Aurora reflects that process—finding where we all belong.

Some pieces are meant to be sold. Some are meant to be gifted, and some are meant to be passed down. My process is metaphysical and slow, as I follow the phases of the moon. I work in a way that is mentally and environmentally sustainable, and it is extremely meaningful to me. Welcome & enjoy.
