Marked 925, this sterling silver pendant holds a large, faceted oval smoky quartz, about 1 cm deep and cut with so many facets that it practically glows from within. Face-up, the stone reads a warm rosy brown, almost cognac; tilt it to the side and it flashes honey and golden olive tones, so it never looks quite the same twice. The stone sits high in a prong-set sterling basket, and the sides are wrapped in an openwork scrolling lattice gallery — a lovely detail that lets the light pour in and gives the piece a little vintage romance from every angle.
